If you\u2019ve ever felt like that, let me share with you a story I sometimes tell my clients.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re standing in a crowded mall, holding a bunch of the most beautiful long-stemmed red roses.<\/p>\n

Your task is to hand out each and every one of these roses to passers-by.<\/p>\n

At first, no one will even stop for you. They keep their heads down and walk past quickly, like you\u2019re just another salesperson trying to get something from them.<\/p>\n

It feels humiliating to put yourself on display like this, just a woman with a beautiful gift no one wants. You feel vulnerable.<\/p>\n

But you\u2019re not leaving until you\u2019ve done the job, so you start to think.<\/p>\n

You realize you can get people to stop by making eye contact with them. So you start looking out at the sea of people, searching for friendly faces. If you catch someone\u2019s eye, you wink conspiratorially and hand out a rose with a smile. You give away your first few flowers, and you\u2019re ecstatic.<\/p>\n

But soon you notice that the men are still avoiding you. Why? Is it because roses are a symbol of romantic love?<\/p>\n

You set your sights on trying to get a man to take one of your flowers. At last you manage to shove one into a man\u2019s hand, but as he walks away he quickly drops it into a trash bin.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s no way to treat a gift from your heart!<\/p>\n

By the time you\u2019re finished, you feel drained and bruised. Facing that much rejection made you angry. You don\u2019t know why so few people would take your gift, but a little voice inside your head is whispering that the problem was you. Maybe if you looked different, everyone would have wanted your roses.<\/p>\n

This little story is a metaphor for how it feels to search for love.<\/p>\n

You have a heart full of love, and you keep trying to give that love away.<\/p>\n

But no one will take it. Men either assume you\u2019re trying to get something from them, or they value your love so little they drop it in the trash when they think you\u2019re not looking.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not easy finding someone who\u2019ll accept all the love you have to offer. Which is insane, because love is one of the most beautiful gifts anyone can give.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unfortunate we live in a world where there are no free gifts. Everything comes with strings attached. That free sample at the cosmetics counter isn\u2019t proof of the company\u2019s generosity; it\u2019s a taster designed to get you to buy the full-sized product.<\/p>\n

So no wonder men look askance at your offer of love. They wonder what you\u2019re \u201cselling.\u201d They don\u2019t realize the value of what you have to offer.<\/p>\n

How do you get men to be open to all the love you have to share? Here are 3 ideas.<\/p>\n

Help him see you.
\nThere\u2019s a reason eye contact is so powerful.<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve met someone\u2019s eyes, you can no longer treat them as just another body in the crowd.<\/p>\n

So make it a habit to look into other people\u2019s eyes. Have the courage to read what\u2019s written in there. Have the confidence to believe that a man will connect with you based on what he sees in your eyes \u2026 not how he assesses your body.<\/p>\n

Notice if a man is open before offering your heart.
\nSome men are closed off. They\u2019re not good candidates for your love.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, sometimes we set ourselves a challenge. We want one particular individual to accept our gift of love. No other person will do.<\/p>\n

Why put yourself through all that pain?<\/p>\n

If he doesn\u2019t want to take your gift, don\u2019t force it on him. Let him move on and disappear into the crowd. Look for the men who are open to receiving, because they\u2019re the ones who will honor your gift.<\/p>\n

Consider where you\u2019re standing.
\nIf you stand off to the side, hesitant to put yourself out there, people will brush past you without noticing.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got to be visible. You\u2019ve got to broadcast your intentions. You\u2019re ready to give away some love, and you don\u2019t mind who notices.<\/p>\n

The best way to get men to see your generosity of heart is to give away love with a flourish. Hug your friends. Give your gorgeous dog a kiss on the nose. Cuddle children. Wrap an arm around someone you love.<\/p>\n

Once he sees you giving away all that good stuff, he\u2019ll be intrigued. Who is this woman who so confidently gives of her heart without expecting anything in return?<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll begin to see the depth of your capacity to love others.<\/p>\n

Soon, you won\u2019t care if a particular man doesn\u2019t accept your \u201crose.\u201d You\u2019ll know your love is a valuable gift, one the right man will be honored to accept.<\/p>\n
